Lothian branch
Membership of Lothian Branch is included in the cost of SOC membership for all Lothian residents. Lothian is currently the largest SOC branch, with over 500 members. We hold monthly meetings and field trips throughout most of the year. We also have a discussion group, where we consider conservation issues and organise survey work.
Volunteering
Waterston House, the SOC headquarters, is located in Lothian region on the outskirts of Aberlady village.
There are many ways volunteers can help out at Waterston House with the day-to-day running of the SOC, from showing visitors around and helping in the library, to assisting with general admin tasks. If you have some time to spare and would like to lend a hand, please contact the office.
Indoor Meetings
These take place on the second Tuesday of each month, from September to April. Click here to view the meeting programme.
Excursions
These take place in most months of the year; usually on a Saturday or Sunday. Click here for information on excursions.
Discussion Group
The group meets at Waterston House on the first Wednesday of each month, from September to April. Meetings start at 7:30pm. Contact Mark Holling for more information.
