Jackdaw soemmerringii Veensgarth, Shetland 27 January 1998 - 17 March 1998, with 2 on 28 January and 8 February. BOURC have said in their 25th Report that owing to `plumage characters of Jackdaws (being) so variable (the race) can be accepted as new to Britain only if a breeding bird or pullus ringed within its normal breeding range is recovered in Britain and shows the characters of the race.'
