Local branches of the Club

An administrative hub, resource centre, wildlife art gallery and events venue.

Waterston House runs a wide range of events throughout the year including Optics Days, Goosewatch events, Birdwatching for Beginners courses, an Annual Book Fair and Dawn Chorus events.

On a daily basis, the Donald Watson Art Gallery at Waterston House plays host to a year-round programme of exhibitions from some of the UK’s top wildlife artists. Entry to the gallery is free and open to all during normal visitor hours.

This year we hope to be able to offer you an even greater variety of events to take part in including photography courses, art demonstrations and workshops, so please do keep checking our list of forthcoming events

SOC Annual Conference

Every year the Club organises an Annual Conference (which includes the Club’s AGM) in October/ November time. This takes the form of a weekend event, with registration opening on the Friday afternoon.

BTO/SOC Scottish Birdwatchers’ Conference

Every year the SOC, in partnership with BTO Scotland host the Scottish Birdwatchers’ Conference.
