11 Nov 2014 “Mapping Arran’s birds”, with Jim Cassels
The mapping Arran’s birds for the first time was an ambitious project for the Arran Natural History Society (ANHS). The presentation describes the challenges, the collection of the data, the results and the production of the publication which was achieved through the combined efforts of a great many people who share a passion for Arran and its birds. Over 36,000 records on 177 species resulted in a 168 page atlas with more than 400 maps and more than 200 photographs with contributions from over 700 people.
