Autumn is here and HQ's guided walks are now in full swing, taking advantage of the wealth of bird life along the coast and around lochs and woodlands.

Courses consist of a block of four walks, each lasting around 2-3 hours. The pace is relaxed, with no serious hiking planned, although some paths may be rough and/or muddy so we advise sturdy footwear.  It is not necessary to own a pair of binoculars as we have a supply of optical equipment available for participants to borrow. The walks are very informal and group numbers kept small to facilitate an enjoyable introduction to birds and bird watching.

Scott Paterson, who leads the courses, is  also county bird recorder for the Perth & Kinross region and is an accomplished ornithologist with many years of experience as a professional bird ID skills trainer.

To book a place please call the SOC office on 01875 871330 to make your payment by credit or debit card. The cost is £32 (£24 SOC members) for the block of four walks and courses must be paid for in full.
