This joint exhibition presents paintings and prints by Robert Greenhalf and Matt Underwood alongside sculptures by Anthony Theakston. Robert Greenhalf’s work is well known to our audience and this will be Robert’s fifth exhibition at Waterston House. Like Robert, Matt Underwood is both a painter and a printmaker. Robert and Matt use woodcut, or linocut, as their main printmaking technique. While Robert is a master of the muted palette, Matt’s work is remarkable for its bold colours and designs. Anthony Theakston, also a new exhibitor at Waterston House, adds his own very personal take on wildlife to the exhibition. His sculptures, in bronze or ceramics, aim to capture a bird’s essential traits with minimal details. His paired- down style is quite unique and his work features in many UK museum collections.
