Where did you hear about this event?

Autumn is an exciting time of year for birdwatchers, as winter visitors start to arrive from their Northern breeding grounds – from Pink-footed geese to a range of thrushes and an influx of sea ducks and waders – so we will be taking advantage of the wealth of species along the coast and in woodlands. And of course, there is always a chance of a 'vagrant' turning up i.e. something unusual that has blown off course!

The pace of the walks, which last around 2-3 hours (approx 10.00am-1.00pm), is fairly relaxed and the ambience is informal, with discussion and questions encouraged. The aim is to provide an enjoyable introduction to birds, bird identification and bird watching. Numbers are limited to eight to maximise individual learning.

Please ensure that you come prepared for all weathers and have warm, waterproof clothing.  You will also need sturdy walking boots or shoes, or Wellingtons, although we will not be doing any serious hiking, but will be walking on paths which may be rough and/or muddy. If you have binoculars, please bring them. Otherwise, we can arrange a loan pair, just let us know at the time of booking.
