Join us to learn the basics of bird identification at Linlithgow Loch (west Lothian) where will be looking at wildfowl which winter at Linlithgow Loch, plus anything else that happens to be around. The walk will last around two –three hours and will be lead by Scott Paterson, our guided walks organiser. Scott is county bird recorder for the Perth & Kinross region and is an accomplished ornithologist with many years of experience as a professional bird ID skills trainer.
The walk will be relaxed and informal with discussion and questions encouraged and will aim to provide and enjoyable introduction to birds, bird identification and birdwatching. Numbers are limited to ten so groups won’t be too large or intimidating.
Please ensure that you come prepared for all weathers and have warm, waterproof clothing. You will also need sturdy walking boots or shoes, or Wellingtons although we will not be doing any serious hiking, but will be walking on paths which may be rough and/or muddy. If you have binoculars, please bring them, if you do not have any please let Scott know and we will arrange a loan pair.
To book a place please call the SOC office on 01875 871330 to make your payment by credit or debit card. The cost is £12 (£10 SOC members).
