    Headquarters

In line with our charitable aims, the SOC is committed to supporting the study and documentation of Scotland’s wild birds. For this purpose, we currently run two grant funding schemes: The Endowment Fund, for amateur field studies; and The Birds of Scotland Fund, for ornithological publications and special projects.

For more information, including links to past funded projects, funding criteria and how to apply, please use the buttons below.

Applications are welcome from anyone who has a project that they believe meets the criteria. Recipients of research grants will have the opportunity to submit their findings in the form of a paper or short note for publication in the SOC’s journal, Scottish Birds.
