Join artist Kittie Jones for a one-day expressive drawing workshop at the SOC, to accompany our exhibition Over the Waves.
During the day, you will explore different approaches to drawing, working with charcoal and soft pastels to develop your own expressive response to the landscape and wildlife of Aberlady Bay. Kittie will share methods for gathering information and inspiration to help you express your observations on paper.
In the afternoon, you will have time to return to the gallery space and further develop your drawings, consolidating the inspiration gathered during the morning.
The workshop will take place between Aberlady Bay Nature Reserve and the SOC gallery. All materials will be provided for the day.

What you need:
Please ensure that you dress appropriately for the weather and wear sturdy walking boots or wellies.
You are welcome to bring a lightweight sketching chair or stool if you would like to sit during the session at Aberlady Bay.
If you have binoculars, please bring them along, otherwise the SOC will have some to borrow on the day.
Please bring a packed lunch (tea/coffee will be provided when we go back to the SOC).
Where to meet:
Please meet at the Aberlady Bay Nature Reserve car park, ready for a 10am start.
