Join us at SOC headquarters for an afternoon with artist Darren Woodhead, as he discusses his latest exhibition Light, Weather and Watercolour. Darren will share the stories behind his paintings and give a live demonstration of his renowned watercolour techniques.
Celebrated for his mastery of the medium, Darren’s new exhibition presents a deeply personal collection of works created over the past year. The paintings explore his immediate surroundings in the East Lothian countryside alongside journeys into other parts of Scotland. Over this period, Darren became increasingly fascinated by shifting light, changing weather, and the cyclical rhythm of the seasons — themes that inspired new ideas, techniques, and expressive possibilities in his work. Each piece reflects his evolving relationship with the landscape and the ongoing dialogue between artist, subject, and medium.
This event will be held at SOC's HQ at Waterston House, Aberlady. It is free to attend and no booking is required.
