By popular demand and following the sell-out success of our Plant Fibre Weaving Workshop, the SOC is delighted to offer a second course with weaver and string maker Anna Corbett. The event will take place at our headquarters in Aberlady.

This workshop (which is different from the Plant Fibre Weaving Workshop), will focus on how to make string from plants. You will find out how to identify, harvest and process a range of wild and cultivated plant fibres. As well as learning skills to make 2, 3 and 4 ply cordage, and some simple braiding techniques.

String making from plants is one of our most ancient technologies, offering untold opportunities for creative and practical applications. Please come along and enjoy a relaxing afternoon working with some wonderful plant fibres.

This is a half day workshop and costs £48, including all materials. Please note some of the techniques shown on this course will also be covered in the full day Plant Fibre Weaving Workshop (1st March). Places on this course are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.

Sadly we are unable to offer refunds on this event.
